Mixing Lovecraft's stories "The Case of Charles Dexter Ward" and "The Festival", this adventure pits the Miskatonic Project, a group of investigators that echo heroes in the Delta Green role-playing game, against a powerful man who controls supernatural forces, and leads a psychotic cult who worships ancient beings of unspeakable power.

Taking the original text from three of Lovecraft’s most influential stories, the creative team set out to create a graphic novel version of the Cthulhu Mythos in H. P. Lovecraft’s “The Call of Cthulhu”.

At first glance this graphic novel seems to be targeting a very young audience; after all, the characters are drawn very cartoonishly, there is a monster named “Spot”, the dialogue is very basic, and there was an animated feature made based on this book. A closer look, however, reveals that the work is more for middle-grade to young adult readers; the color palette is dark and moody, and some of the themes and phrases are beyond what a grade-school child would be able to comprehend.
